Satellite Media Tour Reaches Millions with Key Flu Messages
Satellite media tours are a great way to broadcast key flu messages to large audiences across the U.S. Families Fighting Flu held a satellite media tour in January to remind people around the country that it’s not too late to vaccinate against the flu.
Tash became an advocate for flu awareness and vaccination help make sure others don’t have a similar experience.
Families Fighting Flu medical advisor Dr. Flor Munoz, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital was joined by advocate Tash Haynes. Dr. Munoz shared information on the current flu season, answered questions about vaccination, and urged viewers to get their flu vaccination. Tash shared her personal experience with the flu, which nearly killed her in 2017 (read Tash’s story here), and reminded audiences that she was a young and healthy person when she got ill. Tash lives with ongoing medical conditions as a result of the flu and became an advocate for flu awareness and vaccination to help make sure others don’t have a similar experience.
Dr. Munoz and Tash participated in 19 interviews which led to 29 airings around the country, including four national/regional syndicated radio interviews, with more than 9.8 million impressions. As a result, FamiliesFightingFlu.org saw a 39% increase in visitors for more than two weeks, with more than 2,000% increase in visitors to information about Flu Vaccination, 35% more visitors to our Family Stories, and 116% increase in visitors to Flu and Sepsis page.
