Junior Board Works to Fight Flu in Honor of Loved Ones
When families have a loved one experience a serious illness or even death related to the flu, the entire family is changed forever. But it isn’t just the parents who want to make a difference, and hopefully prevent another family from having the same experience – the children do too. These sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, cousins and friends are inspired to act, and have formed the Families Fighting Flu Junior Board.
This week is National Influenza Vaccination Week, and we are spotlighting the 13 teens and young adults on the Families Fighting Flu Junior Board on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We hope you will be inspired to follow along and learn more about how the Board members are working in their communities to share their personal stories, increase flu vaccination rates, and educate others.
We’re proud of the work they are doing to keep their communities safe from the flu. If their work inspires you—consider becoming a Flu Champion in your community! Start today by sharing why you #FightFlu on your social media account and order a toolkit for free resources to share with your school, doctors’ offices, and your community.
